6th Graders will take their Moon Quizzes on Tuesday (D class) and Wednesday (B Class) of this week. In class, we built a study guide for all students to complete as their review. A completed study guide handed in on the day of the quiz will count as 1 bonus point. Completing the Discovery Education practice quiz, linked to below, will earn them a another bonus point if they get a 100% on any attempt.

7th graders have a week left to complete their Technology Changes over Time Project. This project includes a typed graphic organizer and a timeline (virtual, website, iMovie, poster, or Prezi, etc…). This project is worth 35 points and will count in the test and quiz category. Attached below are the information sheets, graphic organizer, and information about finding pictures and using various forms of technology.

Remember: Students do not need to make their timeline electronic, they can simple pick up poster paper from class and complete it on there. Neatness counts, so pictures should probably be printed or carefully drawn. Use a ruler!

Due Dates: A class 4/27. C and E classes 4/25

Hello All!

The end of the quarter is just over a week away so I wanted to send out a few reminders of upcoming important dates. Whew, time flies!

6th Grade classes will be taking their Q3 End of Quarter test (our version of the assessment) on Wednesday and Thursday of next week:

  • B Class: Wednesday
  • D Class: Thursday

My 7th grade classes will be taking their Q3 assessments on Wednesday and Thursday of next week:

  • A Class: Wednesday 3/28
  • C Class: Thursday 3/29
  • E Class: Wednesday 3/28

Since these dates fall so close to the end of the quarter, it’s very important that all students are present on these days to minimize make-ups.

On the same day as the child’s assessment the following will occur:

  • Completed Vocabulary Grid will be collected (about 15 points)
  • Science Folder/Notebook to be checked (about 15 points)
  • Review Sheet will be collected (about 10 points)

These should be easy points in the last few days of the quarter, so please encourage your student to make extra effort to get them done and turn them in.

A practice quiz is available for the assessment on Discovery Education as we have been doing for every quiz since early December. Students may take this practice quiz as often as they would like and scoring 100% on any attempt will earn them a bonus point on their assessment.

The last day for all work to be turned in– on-time, late, or otherwise– is Friday, March 30th. This day is a half-day and is also Falcon Day. Classes will not be meeting on this day. No late work will be accepted after 11:25am on Friday, March 30th. Extra credit has been available throughout the quarter in the form of Discovery Education Practice Tests. There will not be an additional extra credit assignment available.

Please email me with any questions or concerns that you may have!

Our last quiz of the quarter before our assessment will be this Thursday for C block and Friday for A and E blocks. There is only 1 section from the textbook for this quiz: Chapter 5 Section 1.

This quiz will be in two parts–a vocabulary section and a content section.

A DE practice quiz has been created and is available at the following link: Practice Quiz

Students only need to enter their name–do not change the code. A 100% on any attempt will earn a student a bonus point.

Good Evening!

Students in my B and D blocks will take their resources quiz this coming Thursday and Friday. D class will take their quiz on Friday; B class will take theirs on Thursday. There is a chance that B class will have their quiz postponed until Monday depending on how much material we are able to cover on Wednesday. Please plan for Thursday. If the date changes to Monday, students will be pleasantly surprised!

This quiz will cover the following textbook sections: 5-1, 5-2, 5-3.

This quiz will cover the following vocabulary terms from the vocabulary grid: 7-22. A study stack for this quiz is available here.

This quiz will also cover interpreting graphs and creating data charts as we’ve been covering in pages 13-17 of the scientific method packet.

There is a practice quiz available on discoveryeducation.com. Scoring a 100% on any attempt of the quiz will earn students a bonus point on their quiz.

Go study!
